Recommendations for users of round bale net wrap

The following recommendations for users of our products are based on a long-term experience with development, production, sales and use of both twine and round bale net wrap.

Baler maintenance

Adjust the baler according to the user's manual.

Check the pickup components regularly for missing or bent tines.

Adjust the brakes in order to achieve proper tension of the net. Check the efficiency of the cutting system regularly.

Pay special attention to cleaning of the binding device and check the uniform alignment of guide rollers in order to apply the equal pressure to the net wrap at the whole site.

Examine all belts, chains and other moving parts regularly.

Net wrap

Warning: overweight package! Handling of two person is recommended. Unpack the roll several hours prior to bailing in order to discharge the static electricity.

Methods of loading rolls of net wrap varies in different machinery. Please consult user´s manual.

Keep the roll in the original packaging, store it indoor, away from moisture, chemicals and exposure to high temperatures.

Check the carton cores.

Baling

In order to ensure the highest quality of the bale it is recommended to apply a minimum number of wraps depending on the type of crop, density and size of the bale, crop moisture content, handling, storage and other factors.

Use equipment and operate the baler depending on the type of crop, density and size of the bale, crop moisture content and further factors (handling, storage, etc.).

Avoid snagging of the bale on belts or metal bars that may damage the net inside the bale chamber.

Number of wraps should be increased for baling in harsh conditions, when exposed to high temperatures and UV or for storage of bales during prolonged period of time.

Synchronize ground speed and power take-off speed so the baler is filled as quickly as the pick-up allows. Keep the bale chamber as full as possible at all times.

Handling and storage

In order to ensure the highest quality of the crop and optimal net wrap performance it is recommended to shelter the bales as soon as possible on well-drained surface.

Generally, bales shall be stored indoor or bale covers should be applied.

Well-shaped and dense bales with appropriate amount of the net wrap will shed moisture better, reducing spoilage during storage.

Recommendations for baling in extreme conditions

To ensure the correct function of the net wrap under long-term exposure to extreme conditions, elevated temperatures and exposure to UV rays, we highly suggest a combination of the below mentioned recommendations.

Recommendations for minimizing losses / damage to the net wrap

Identification of extreme conditions: In the case of baling of straw and other heavy crops it is necessary to continuously check and immediately identify the occurrence of extreme conditions. Under the influence of these, it is essential to adapt the settings of the baler and baling procedures depending on climatic conditions, type of baled material, its humidity, density, bale size and other factors (transport, storage). In extreme cases, the baling must be interrupted and restarted only after the exposure to extreme conditions has passed (work early in the morning or at night).
Bale density: In the case of baling of straw, cereals or grasses under extreme conditions, the baling pressure must be reduced immediately.
Number of wraps: When baling straw, cereals or grasses under extreme conditions, it is necessary to increase the recommended number of wraps.
